Do you, like me, have any of these fakey replacement parts?
Titanium knees,
'Kristal' lenses,
Hearing aids
Teeth implants
The truth is:
My new knee is great, my Kristal lenses are sparkling,
My hearing aids are in the drawer! and my teeth implants
are in a lengthy process (not a pretty picture!)
The trouble is - they don't feel like a REAL part of me.
BUT
I could, at least - create my personal, authentic CANE.
My friend Sharon gave me this funny-looking stick
It didn't look like much but had possibilities ~
After MANY sandings with 60 grit, 220 grit and finally 1500 grit
Then a first coat of maple stain - not dark enough ~
so a coat of cordovan shoe polish
and MANY many POLISHINGS later ~
I now have a strange personal cane!
Don't you think the handle looks a little like a donkey head
or an odd bird?
'She' fits exactly into the palm of my right hand.
She is precisely the right height
And sports her own little rubber foot!
Her name is Amanuensis
