INCREDIBLE, WILD, FREE...PARASAILING 1300 feet above Lake Tahoe, CA ... our speed boat just a white dot on the blue lake far below. The high wind buffeting the parachute, grabbing me up, suddenly dropping...then aloft again...sailing silently smoothly through the clear sky.
My mind emptied of daily trivia...emptied of care...the perspective stunned me, quieted me...like a hint of the mystery of space travel.
And I was so proud. Pleased and strong about taking that most uncharacteristic risk...without fear or trembling...wearing the event like a badge of courage!
I don't have to do it again. And now I don't have to hang-glide or bungie jump. I did a wild and crazy thing, and I'm satisfied. Which doesn't mean I won't climb other "mountains' - in my mind, at least. BUT did I tell you?
I went parasailing!
