A BURST OF UNEXPECTED ENERGY!

Imagine my surprise...after months of slogging along, buried under clutter and overwhelmed by maintenance of body and home....up through my veins and spirit comes this burst of new energy.  Don't know from whence it came or why, but it's a gift I love.

I'm taking on those dreadful long neglected household repairs...one by one. And trying to practice what I believe about food and other addictive substances.  

And having a great time playing with photographs.

  
 

There's a Dance in the Old Dame yet!

I've had a tendency, over the years, to "circle my wagons" too soon.  In my 50's I wanted to retire.  In my 60's I wanted to sit back and read my life away.  And now, deep into my 70's I almost gave up a beautiful ocean-view home just because it has millions of stairs!  What was I thinking? I had intellectually doomed myself to flat living....not remembering the miracles of hip and knee replacements and meals on wheels :)

This morning I put on my old baseball cap and my old windbreaker and my glamorous Serengeti dark glasses....and strolled the 3 blocks down to the beach....it's a lovely soft sunny day...and for awhile I was completely alone among the gulls and white waves.  Utter peace.  The "elegance of small things" came to mind as I turned the glistening stones in my hands...and picked up pieces of twisted wood for my SeaArt collection.

I LOVE LIFE.  I'm grateful for every minute of it.  And now I want to get off my duff and move, dance, swim and take time daily to walk along the shore.
